BMFA House Leaguge Flag Football

 

The Burlington Minor Football Association (BMFA) has designed a Flag Football program to give youth throughout Burlington and the surrounding communities an opportunity to participate in exciting and fast-paced Flag Football! Our non-contact flag football program is open to all athletes between the ages of 6 and 17.

Games are played with 5 players from each team on the field at a time.

Games are played on turf fields and officiated by referees from the Southern Ontario Touch Football Officials Association (SOFTOA) and staffed with personnel capable of providing first aid and treatment for on-field injuries.

Each player will receive a uniform and equipment consisting of a team jersey, shorts, a flag belt and a mouthguard.

Registration and season start and end date to be accounted on December 1st 2026.

2026 Fall Flag Football

The Burlington Minor Football Association (BMFA) is excited to announce that registration is officially OPEN for our Fall 2026 Flag Football House League Season!

After an incredible Spring season filled with growth, competition, and unforgettable memories, we can’t wait to welcome everyone back to the field this fall.

Whether your athlete is returning for another season or inviting a friend to try flag football for the first time, our program is designed for players of all skill levels. No experience is necessary — just come ready to learn, compete, and have fun!

• U8 – Players born in 2019-2020

• U14 – Players born in 2013-2014
• U16 – Players born in 2011-2012
• U18/U19 – Players born in 2008-2010

GIRLS

• U14 – Players born in 2013-2014
• U16/U18 – Players born in 2011-2012 & Players born in 2009-2010 — THIS IS A COMBINED AGE GROUP

Please Note: Depending on registration numbers, some divisions may be split into Minor and Major age groups focused on a single birth year (Example: U14 Minor – 2014 and U14 Major – 2013).

Game Locations

Games are played at Norton Field & Notre Dame Secondary School.

Please note: Locations are subject to change.

Practice schedules will be determined by each coach once teams are finalized. Dates, times, and locations are at the coach’s discretion and are not set by BMFA.

Registration Fees

• BMFA Base Fee: $260
• Football Canada/Football Ontario Fees: $22.50 – IF YOU JOINED IN SPRING 2026, YOU WON’T NEED TO PAY THIS AGAIN
• Total Fees: $282.50

***DISCOUNT FOR THOSE WHO PLAYED IN SPRING 2026 IS: FALL2026 ** This gives you $30.00 off

Please make sure you use this discount code at the payment stage of registration. Admin can’t go back in and provide you with the discount if you register without it.

Team Formation Rules — Please Read Before Registering

To ensure fairness, balance, and competitive divisions across the league:

• No REP Flag Football players are permitted to participate in BMFA House League, including current BMFA Rep players.
• No full team submissions will be accepted.
• Maximum of four (4) returning teammates may be placed on the same roster.
• Friend requests must be mutual to be considered.
• Players may submit up to two (2) friend requests.
• Friend requests are not guaranteed, but we will do our best to accommodate within our fairness policy.

Uniforms & Equipment

All players receive:

• Team jersey
• Pair of shorts
• (1)Flag belt
• (1) Mouthguard

Additional requirements:

• Cleats are recommended (no metal spikes)
• Players should bring their own water bottle

We are always looking for positive and supportive volunteers!

Coaching Opportunities

• Head Coaches receive one full registration reimbursement at the conclusion of the season.
• One Assistant Coach per team receives a half registration reimbursement at the conclusion of the season.
• Coach registration details are provided at the end of registering player
• All coaches must complete screening and training requirements prior to Week 1, including:
• Vulnerable Sector Check
• NCCP Registration
• Mandatory online training course

Spots are limited in each division and registration will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage families to register early to secure their spot.
