COACHING REQUIRMENTS

Coaching flag football with BMFA means inspiring young athletes while building a stronger community. Below you’ll find all the requirements to get certified and on the field—including mandatory registrations, coaching education, police checks, and reinbursements.

football ontario coaching registration

Required for all head coaches and assistant coaches. This free registration takes 5-10 minutes and must be completed by March 2, 2026.

We’ll use this information to submit your Football Ontario coaching fee ($25) and secure your field insurance. You’ll need your NCCP# to complete this registration (see right).

NATIONAL COACHING CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

Your NCCP# is your coaching education profile. All training and certifications—across every sport—are stored in The Locker database.

If you don’t have an NCCP#, create one for free at the link below before completing your BMFA registration.

VULNERABLE SECTOR CHECK (POLICE CHECK)

All coaches require a valid Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the past two years. Apply before April 19, 2025 and email approved documentation to our Office Admin at officeadmin@burlingtonfootball.ca for secure storage.

This fee is reimbursed by BMFA (see Reimbursements below).

Reimbursements

  • Head Coaches receive a full registration credit (minus Football Ontario fees), reimbursed to your credit card or directly after the season concludes
  • Assistant Coaches (one per team) receive half of the registration fee
  • Training & Police Check Reimbursements: Email receipts and confirmation to Flag Governor Larissa Lambert at larissa.lambert@burlingtonfootball.ca
