BANTAM STAMPS ADVANCE TO 5-0
October 18th, 2021
This weekend the Bantam Stampeders defeated the Niagara Spears by an impressive score of 44-0 in their final home game of the regular season. The win advances the Stampeders to 5-0 on the season with one game remaining – an away game against the Vaughan Rebels at St. Joan of Arc High School. The game will be a rematch as the Rebels were already bested by Burlington early in the season 38-8.
Vaughan is currently tied for second place in the U14 Tier 1 division with Cambridge who won their head-to-head matchup earlier this year. They won’t be able to take over first place based on the results of this game, but if they win and Cambridge loses to Scarborough, they could clinch home-field advantage for the first round of the fall season playoffs. We expect them to come out swinging as Burlington and Vaughan both feature high-powered offences each with 150 points for, but Burlington’s defence who have only given up 23 points all season, is sure to be a challenge to their efforts. One thing is for sure, this week’s game is going to be an exciting ending to a fantastic regular season. Go Stamps!
STAMPEDERS IMPROVE TO 1-2-1
October 11th, 2021
The Peewee Stampeders added another point to the standings with their 6-6 tie this weekend against the Cambridge Lions. Cambridge, who were 2-1 were also coming off a win the previous week in their 20-18 victory over the Vaughan Rebels, and are no pushover team. The tie puts Burlington in better standing, putting them in 4th place, 3 points ahead of Waterloo who sit 0-4. Burlington will face Cambridge again in the next game on October 17th and will close out their season in another rematch against Scarborough the following week on the 24th.
The Bantam Stampeders had their bye this week, and will face Niagara on the 17th at Nelson Stadium.
PEEWEE STAMPS FIRST WIN!
The Peewee Stampeders have their first win in the books following their game this weekend. The Peewee Stamps played host to the Waterloo Predators, and enjoyed a decisive victory with their final score of 39-8. A huge congrats to the boys on their continued growth, and to their coaches on continuing to help them to develop.
In Bantam action, the Stampeders continued to roll this week, extending their own record to an impressive 4-0 with their own 22-7 win against the Cambridge Lions. The game score brings their points for and points against to 106 and 23 respectively.
BANTAMS CLIMB TO 3-0
September 27th 2021
In the Ontario Fall Football League’s third week, our Bantam Stampeders took to the gridiron against the Hamilton Jr. Ticats on the road in Hamilton and after four quarters had clinched their third win of the season with a score of 32-8.
In Peewee Football action, our Stamps travelled to Vaughan to take on the Rebels, but they came up short as the Rebels put up 12 points against our boys’ 2 points. The team showed improvement from their game against the Scarborough Thunder the previous week, but were hampered by costly turnovers that killed what might have been scoring drives. It was still a marked improvement over their opener, and we’re sure they will find their groove as the season goes on!
Go Stamps Go!!!
THAT 3-0 FEELING…
